HDR appears to be switched off as its on all the time in the latest iPhones is in settings, photos 'View Full HDR' default is on. Another great show. Thanks 😀

heyy sir I have Mac mini m2 but I don't have apple monitor I have benq monitor and usb keyboard and mouse after sleep mode I try to wake up my Mac mini but that not waking up I think the monitor is not detecting the sig but I have to turn off monitor and on and everything is back to normal how do I solve this issue

If anyone is still having issues with this try disconnecting anything connected to usb.

Why can Synology not offer a migration utility to go from Ext4 to Btrfs ... even if required to backup to offline media and then restore? Or, does something like that actually exist ... even if from 3rd party?

If Pete was using Camo when this was recorded, it is a pretty poor advertisement for the webcam utility. His video looked pretty terrible with a lot of poor separation of Pete from the background. The boundary between Pete and the background was jumping all over the place. I love the show, though. Keep up the good work.

I just upgraded from a 2013 i5 pro (OS last updated about a year ago) to a M3 Air running Sonoma. My transcended SSD enclosure immediately started disconnecting every few minutes… it has no issues in the old laptop. There is definitely a bug in Sonoma that I’ve read was present in Ventura also. Hundreds of people experience this same thing and it’s nothing to do with cables or faulty enclosures. The ‘drives sleep when possible’ setting doesn’t solve it either… this was the first thing I tried as well as the ‘prevent sleep when display off’ setting. Some people report the ‘disk ejected’ message appears after wake up (which is true, mine was doing this) but as well as that, it was doing it every few minutes when the MacBook was in use. Even if the drive was being read at the time… for example playing a video file. I disabled all sleep settings and enabled ‘wake for network access’… I didn’t do things one at a time so haven’t pinpointed it but by going ‘all in’ on the settings it did solve my issue. What I can say for certain is that neither of the 2 obvious options that should relate to the issue had any effect. It’s very weird… it does seem related to sleep settings but the problem doesn’t only happen during sleep. Definitely a bug through with recent OS versions that wasn’t there previously.

When I change to wpa2 in router setting, yes my device can connect BUT the speed was very slow, so we need to find a solution for a bgn wireless can adapt to wpa3 encryption

Appreciate the video. I find this remains very finicky. I have to tap 2 or 3 times (sometimes more) to get it to pop up. I may have three messages in a row all with tapbacks. It seems to randomly show which one it wants to show.

I finally got the M1 MacBook Air that I've been smitten by since it was first introduced. My sister got the base model of this on a President's Day sale last year. She's a teacher and has been perfectly happy with her 8G M1 MacBook Air. I decided that I'm going to be keeping this for a good long time so I got mine with double the RAM and double the storage to match the 13" MacBook Pro (2012) that it's replacing. Now I'm beginning to wonder it I might have wasted my money.

Maybe it was mentioned but, why not just use a second mac as a back up server? It can be at home or studio. It can mirror the entire collection on machines in the office and at home. He should also have a “real” offsite back up of his photos too. Backblaze is what I use for this. Backblaze used to have a page about using it to back up photo collections. But for me, it is simply backing up my media folder which has all the images and photos. So, he can have the current project files managed on his work machines. They should all have Time Machine externals as a kind of instant access for mistakes and back up. Then the server, which can also be an archive. It can have its own Time Machine drive too. Then the big off site Backblaze kind of all files back up. That would be if both home and office are gone, like in a flood, hurricane, earthquake, conflagration, etc. that takes out a large land area. No need for Qnap or Synology complexity. A used M1 and some external hard drives can do the job.
